When the AdobePatchInstaller. Installation of the Camera Profiles is simple as running the CameraProfiles. However you still want to install the files manually, as in my case, then keep reading. More recent packages of camera raw have additional file which you can safely ignore. You can then skip the camera profiles if you really want. This contains all the profiles but with a non standard name. The image above is captured using the sqlite-manager plugin for firefox.
The simple way to do things. I just got myself a new 64bit system with Win7 64bit. Inside the Assets zip file I found a single file called as per one of the commenter below. Going back to the original link I discovered that the last supported camera raw version for CS5 is 6. Hi there, can you tell me how did you install the lens profiles file? I'm using a portable version of CS5 and Camera Raw 6. Thanks in advance, and thanks for this article, really useful!
Stefano from Rome. Like Like. Was up and going within a minute and all my old shortcuts and albums were ok but I'm no expert. Works great with my Fuji x10 raw files. A huge improvement from the fuji silky pics which is a god awful program. You can always make your own and submit it if you'd like, or use the downloader to see if someone else has. Thanks, Adobe, for being quicker than DXO. But to complete this we need a profile for X10 lens corrections. At least with DXO we'll get everything at once.
Is DXO better for that situations? In a way, I did ask Adobe, by trawling their website. I got three conflicting replies, as I noted. I don't need another reply, equally untrustworthy, from the customer service people whose unenviable job it is to get us lowly Elements users up to speed. To answer my own question, Camera Raw 6. I downloaded it and attempted to install it, only to receive an error message along the lines of, "this update is not applicable". I didn't buy a new camera, but I did hope to try the new profiles for the DS since I presume DS is what Adobe meant by "Ds" in their readme file.
It's a bit petty to deny Elements 9 users those profiles, I think, but I don't know why I expected better. Actually, the new profiles for the readme file did state the "Ds" D plural and they state the DS later. But the webpage conflicts with both of those by stating the D3s. It states, on page 7: "New camera profiles for Nikon D3, D, Ds, and D to address issues with highlight posterization". Everyone calls the DS a Ds. Nikon aren't consistent with the spelling, so no wonder.
That's not my concern here. To do this, download and install the DNG converter 6. This will install the profiles along with the converter and you can then use them inside Lightroom or the previous version of Camera Raw.
Hey, thanks, ljfinger! I did as you suggested, and it works. I appreciate your taking the time to figure that out for us. This entirely solves my particular problem, though I'm still disappointed that Adobe only partially supports a product mere months after selling it. Nonetheless, this incident highlights a very valuable thing one gets for free when buying Adobe software: a huge user community that routinely solves problems. Is it compatible with Photoshop Elements 9?
Adobe's haphazard documentation is confusing on that point. It also says, "The Camera Raw 6. It would be disappointing if Elements 9 users are already locked out of Camera Raw updates. Can anyone clarify the situation? I ahve PSE9 and will try it later at home. No wonder there are so many pirated Adobe soft in the net. I have PSE9. I just tried the download and it failed. Then tried the special PSE10 maybe it would work download and it failed.
Thanks Adobe! Without wishing to complain too much, I think this is particularly galling because a I bought Elements 9 only nine months ago, and b Adobe themselves say the new Nikon profiles are a FIX for the highlight posterisation issues yes, they emphasis that with capital letters in their readme file.
Shame on Adobe. I tried it as well and it's not compatible with PSE9 anymore. But I don't want to spend more money getting PSE10 just for that. I'm going to call their desk to see what they say. I also got PSE less than 6 months ago. Elements has been dumbed down in some ways since version 6 anyways. I don't recommend it over Lightroom, which is still very much worth the upgrade each time.
Adobe always try to screw customers into upgrades by denying them access to key elements such as Camera Raw. In South Africa Elements 9 is still sold as a retail product. Ive had it for three months. I'm now screwed for my Nikon V1. On Adobe's website costs to upgrade internationally are far more in the US - same download different US dollar price.
I really hope that other products like DX0 eventually take away the monopoly that Adobe has on the market. I always wondered what the difference was between "Adobe is working on the issue" and "Adobe is working the issue. This is outrageous! I have also checked the ACR 6. I have an X10 and it would seem no choice if I want to stick with Adobe but to upgrade. I'm expected to buy an entirely new license for the entire product every year, when it's clear ACR is intended to be a moving, perpetually updating component.
This is no longer and they're the best game in town. Especially galling when their website states flat out that ACR 6. I second all the above comments: I can't understand why Adobe are not listening to their customers; why they don't get rid of misleading information on their website - why they behave like a company that thinks it has a monopoly.
DXO for me from now on.. I have managed to get the ACR 6. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom software is built upon the same powerful raw processing technology that is available in the Camera Raw plug-in.
Download: Adobe Camera Raw 6. Fixed issue with overcorrection of vignette. Fixed issue with color noise reduction at extreme color temperatures. Fixed issue with noise reduction when using local exposure adjustment. Send news tip. Adobe Camera Raw is the perfect companion for photographers or photography buffs who are already used to editing their photos using Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom.
With this plugin you won't have any problems opening each image even if it was taken in RAW format on your camera. Thanks to the features included in Adobe Camera Raw, you can solve the typical compatibility problems you run into with programs like Photoshop when working with these uncompressed images. When you edit your pictures in RAW format, you can edit them much more completely and access certain parameters that are unavailable in JPEG. Another upside to using Adobe Camera Raw is that more and more new cameras are being made compatible with this Adobe plugin.
This means it gives you plenty of possibilities to edit photos taken with your camera, without any complications.
Thanks to Adobe Camera Raw, you can expand on the editing possibilities offered by such powerful programs as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
