She took a leisurely hydrotherapy soak first thing to start what could be her final day in the house. I'm going to miss this tub and this suite If I do get kicked out, I won't miss the uncomfortable beds!
Monte stops in to chat with Latima and ask what she'd like for lunch. Tony comes by to thank Russ for some advice he offered on Monday. I still feel like I didn't do enough, earn enough points. Otherwise enjoy! Each person then found themselves standing alone in a mist, trembling as flashes of electricity lit up in every direction all around them, as if they had just landed into the center of a giant storm cloud. The mist, or cloud, seemed to stretch on and on into eternity. Time seemed to stand still in this…plane of existence or whatever it was.
Soon their eyes uncontrollably closed, just for a few seconds. When they opened again, the thick mist began to clear. An unfamiliar room they found themselves in.
When they felt the ability to move and speak again, each one was so mesmerized by this very peculiar place they landed in that they lost a breath. They took a look around for a split second before spotting each other. Mouths dropped. In an instant they all screamed. Once the initial shock wore off, each girl naturally looked down and began observing herself, frozen in awe over how drastically different she appeared.
This is strange! Penny gasped loudly in the background, holding her hand to her chest. It was growing tighter by the second, her heart pounding behind it. She could feel her face growing pale and the blood pulsing at her temples.
Remember what the Wizard said? It was no mystery to the residents of Pelican Town that her mother, Pam, was a heavy drinker due to the many woes of her past. Before she — or Leah — could utter another word, her eyes rolled into her head and her body fell onto the floor with a loud thump. Leah gasped, failing to catch her in time. Leah, help me get her to a bed. Abigail promptly stepped past them to find a bedroom and held the door open while they carried Penny in.
Thankfully a large, nicely decorated room with two single beds was only a few feet away. The two sisters of the group, Haley and Emily, watched in pity as the two carried the sweet and kindhearted teacher of Pelican Town into the room. Emily nodded, still grinning. Back in the bedroom, Maru and Leah looked down upon Penny with a sad look in their eyes. Abigail stood back by the door somewhat listening, but lost in her thoughts.
I love a good challenge. I feel poorer just touching it. Even if their dad was guilty, they were just kids. Desperate kids who just wanted somebody on their side. The video clearly showed a man, who they pointed out as being their dad, walking into the apartment building.
Mercedes was ready to roll her eyes and call their father guilty when something caught her eye. Mercedes stood up and grabbed the remote as soon as she was free. You even sound cute when you whine. Mercedes rolled her eyes. They spent the rest of the night compiling evidence against the strange group of men.
They actually had a pretty good case put together. Eye witnesses, video tampering, a detailed description of each of the men, along with a few more odds and ends. She was certain it was just a few crazy kids who wanted their father to be innocent. But now here she was, a career making or breaking case in her hands. None of them got any sleep that night. But when the sun rose that morning, it was time for action. Mercedes went straight to the law firm early that morning, without even stopping to change clothes.
She even took the public taxi without complaining. She stormed into her bosses office. I have a new case on my hands. A much more important one. There is no case bigger than the Moore case right now. Why do you smell like beer? Mercedes went on to tell Mr. Powel all about her little adventure. Leaving out the kidnapping part, of course. Her boss eventually agreed to let her do the case. He knew there was no arguing with Mercedes Monroe. Nobody wants to believe that the justice system could have made a mistake.
It was an uphill battle alright. She spent countless hours every night going over each smallest detail of the case. She would not lose.
After what felt like an eternity, it was finally done. For the first time in her life, Mercedes was nervous. She sat shaking her leg uncontrollably and chewing her nails. Her heart was pounding. The room was deafeningly silent. Mercedes could feel the suspense in the air. At last, a juror stood up. The room exploded with screams and joy of the people. Marci saw Jordon laughing from across the room, throwing his hands up and cheering.
Time seemed to freeze in that moment. She had done it. She had finally done it. Instead, I decided to use some short stories I wrote and simify them! No posing mods or anything, so some of the staging in this is going to be a little off. I hope you enjoy it anyway, though! I tore my empty gaze away from the whiteboard and quickly gathered my things. I could feel how heavily my feet were stepping down as I half-ran out of the school yard, stopping to talk to no one.
Slowing down a bit when I was clear of the school, I once again let my imagination wander. Particularly to the woods that seemed to surround this small town. Everyone tells us kids to never play in the forest. And I do mean everyone. Which makes sense I guess, but not even hunters or campers go in those woods. My attention was yet again interrupted by two girls walking on the other side of the road. They were giggling and pointing at me between whispers. I knew what they were saying.
They were calling me names and laughing about it. I looked away, letting my long blonde hair fall in front of my face. I then picked up my pace, trying to get as far away from those two as I could. My bad day was forgotten as I looked up to see my big blue and white house. Finally, I was away from all those people and into my own space. That was odd, dad was always home from work by now.
I shuffled the rest of the way up the driveway and slowly opened my unlocked door. Anyone home? No answer. I stepped into my unusually quiet home. I could feel the breath leave my lungs and my eyes widen.
My heart started to race. I felt my hand weaken and my bag fell to the floor. There was nothing. Everything was gone. My whole house was empty, all of the furniture had vanished. My world started to spin, I launched myself forward and started to run through all the rooms in the house.
My head laying on my knees, I just cried. I had no idea what was going on. Were my parents okay? Were they even alive? Was I dreaming? Was this some kind of terrible nightmare? I sat and cried for what seemed like forever. I rushed out of the house, happy to leave the situation behind me, even for just a minute. I walked to my neighbors house and rang their doorbell. I stood outside the door, staring at my reflection in the glass window. I was a mess. My already pale face was completely drained of color.
My normally bright blue eyes were dark and puffy. Smooth light blonde hair was sticking up all over the place. My tall and skinny figure was shaking uncontrollably. Mascara was running down my oval-shaped face. I tried to clean up the tears and makeup with my hand before anyone answered the door, but it just smeared and made me look worse. The door finally creaked open, and Mrs. Conway stood in the doorway, a big smile on her face.
She was on the heavy side, and she had a plump round face with short, curly red hair on top. Her smiling face quickly turned to surprise when she saw me.
Do you know what happened? Conway stood there for a long while. I must have stood there for much longer than I thought, because when I came back to reality, Mrs. Conway was calling my name. Would you like to stay at my place for a few days? I saw that she was shivering. It must have been freezing outside, it was the middle of winter. I looked down at myself. I had on black gloves, a floral skirt with black leggings underneath, my grey winter boots, and a plain scarf.
My warm winter-wear. It was all I had left now.
